How We Met
Angel and Adrian met at a Dance Gavin Dance concert. Funny enough, we were both supposed to go with friends, and at the last minute both plans fell through. So, independently, we each decided to go alone. What felt like a small coincidence at the time turned out to be the reason our paths crossed at all.
After the show, Angel had already left the venue but decided to turn back to check out the merch tables. When Adrian got in line, she was a few people ahead of him. As he listened to her talking, he knew he had to find a way into the conversation. The first thing he said was how impressive it was that the band could fill a venue that size in Texas, and how their music blended so many styles that it brought together a wide range of people.
That sparked a conversation about music, favorite bands, and live shows. Before we realized it, we were at the front of the line. Adrian thought the moment had passed, but Angel had other ideas. She asked if he wanted to buy merch together, and of course he said yes.
Since Angel had come alone, Adrian walked her to her car and asked for her number. That same night, he asked her out on their first date to the Fort Worth Modern Art Museum.
Music has stayed at the center of our story ever since. We've been to countless shows together, discovering new bands, revisiting old favorites, and turning live music into one of the ways we connect, travel, and build memories. What started as a shared conversation at a concert grew into a partnership built on shared experiences and choosing each other every day.
